Perfect World, or PW for short has been a smash hit MMORPG in many Asian countries, and Beijing Perfect World has been looking to replicate that success with Perfect World International. In essence, PW is a game set in the fictional world of Pangu, and based on Chinese lore and mythology to a great degree.

Race and Classes
Each race has 2 different classes exclusive to the race, bringing PW's to a grand total of 6 classes.

Human
1.) Blademaster - A melee/tanking class that depends heavily on their Chi to use their devastating attacks.

Pros
a.) Can use large variety of melee weapons
b.) High physical Defense
c.) Great Melee Damage
d.) Can stun at later levels

Cons
a.) Not as good as tank as a Barbarian
b.) Low magic defense
c.) Slow in the air.

2.) Wizard - Just as the name implies, specializes in magic damage and uses magic weapons

Pros
a.) Highest skill damage.
b.) Best magic defense in the game.
c.) Can use elemental shields to protect from certain elements.
d.) Can heal, although relatively slow at it

Cons

a.) Very low physical defense
b.) Not good vs a Cleric
c.) Low HP
d.) Slow Casting

Winged Elf

3.) Archer - A ranged class that relies on Bows, Slingshots and Crossbows to deal damage.

Pros
a.) High agility
b.) Long range attacks
c.) High crit percentage
d.) Can shoot elemental/poison arrows

Cons
a.) Low physical defense
b.) Need arrows and bolts in order to use your weapons, can be expensive
c.) Damage while fighting in air is reduced greatly
d.) Low HP

4.) Cleric - PW's primary healing and support class, a true asset to any group.

Pros
a.) Fast flying speed.
b.) Best healing class in the game.
c.) Needed for almost any dungeon/party.
d.) Can resurrect the dead.

Cons
a.) Low physical defense.
b.) Mainly thrives in a party, not a great solo class.
c.) Low HP.
d.) High skill point allotment.

Untamed
5.) Barbarian - A melee/tanking class that can shift into Tiger Form. Male only.

Pros
a.) Very high HP and HP recovery rate.
b.) Highest physical defense, making them the best tank in the game.
c.) Can transform into a white tiger, giving them more HP, and faster movement speed.
d.) Has a few aggro taking skills, also making them a great tank.

Cons
a.) Low damage.
b.) Slow attack speed.
c.) Low magic defense.
d.) Very hard to level.

6.) Venomancer - A ranged magic class that can tame pets. Female only.

Pros
a.) Best class for soloing.
b.) Pets function as a personal tank.
c.) Can harvest eggs and sell them to NPC's.
d.) Can turn into fox form

Cons
a.) Low hit points.
b.) Not good for groups, prime function in groups is luring mobs.
c.) Little defense if attacked while already fighting.
d.) Need to keep pets close to your level.

Crafting

After you have gained a few levels, you will be able to make your own items.
Blacksmithing - If you would like to create weapons, this is the craft for you!
Tailoring - Used to make a great variety of armor and defensive equipment.
Jeweler - Can make a great deal of accessories including but not limited to necklaces, rings, and arrows.
Apothecary - Master of potions and hierograms.
Whatever skill you select, you will need to get materials to make your items. In comparison with other games, it is comforting to know that it is relatively easy to get mats in PW. Before you get started, make sure you go to the merchandiser and buy the little shovel scythe on the second page and you will be ready to craft.
After that, you take the mats back and receive a book in exchange. When you take the book to the elder, you have become level 1 in crafting, and are ready to get started. As your skill progresses, the items become quite impressive. For example, blacksmiths can make glowing weapons that are comprised of dungeon materials. Every item will have the player's name inscribed for credit purposes.

Questing

If you are slightly confused with the questing system, don't worry. Although it seems you have run out of quests after you complete the last one, think again. To see your quests, just press "Alt+Q" and begin searching.
If you want to track the progress of the quest, just click the 'Track' button at the bottom of the quest tab. This is highly recommended if you have one with multiple objectives.
Another good thing about the questing in PW is that that the coordinates of the NPC you have to see are provided on the quest description. To see the coordinates, simply press the green arrow on the minimap and you can even type in the numbers to mark it on your map. If not, it is easy enough to navigate in PW.
Early on, quests are the primary source of experience in PW. As things progress, the quests become fewer and more grinding is required.

Mounts

Once you hit level 30, you become eligible to do your flying quest. Once you complete the quest, you become eligible to fly around Pangu to your hearts desire. Due to vast racial differences, each race gets their own method of flight.

Humans get a flying sword that they ride like a surfboard.

Untamed get a variety of tamed birds.

Winged Elves get wings, just as their name implies.

While flying mounts are limited to the class itself, ground mounts are available to any and all races. If you are level 40 and aren't afraid to fork over a little extra cash, you can get one to call your own. The more you ride your mount, they also level up, capping at lvl 11.
Common ground mounts include leopards, horses, elephants, and much more. You can also acquire rare mounts by doing the Dragon Seeker Quest at a later level.

Skill Points
Skill Points (SP) are one of the main things you need in Perfect World. Whether you are looking to obtain new skills, or upgrade current oens, you will need all the SP you can get. The more quests you complete and mobs you kill, the more SP you will get. Every skill in PW caps at Rank 10, so you have your work cut out if you want to go far.

Fashion
In Perfect World, the fashion industry is very alive and booming. Starting at the tender level of 10, you can go vogue and create your own style. As you get higher, you will gain access to more fasionable items, and believe me when I say there is a monstrous variety of things to wear.
If you feel like royalty, why not dress like a princess? When you need something to wear to a wedding, rest assured that you will always be able to find a tuxedo or evening dress. There's also a swimming outfit that even Michael Phelps would envy if he could wear it.
If you don't like the color of the clothing, some good old fasioned dye can change that. The dye NPC is near every tailor in every major city. After buying the dye, just simply drag it onto the garment of choice, and presto!
